Was born in 1916
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was born on 25 September 1916. Father's name was Bhagwati Prasad Upadhyay and mother's name was Rampyari. However, when he was only 8 years old, both his parents died. After this, his maternal uncle took care of him. It was during his education that he came in contact with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He later became an ideologue of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and also the co-founder of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS).
Gave the idea of a united India
The idea of a unified India given by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay is still quite relevant in the country. He said that the human group living in India and having a feeling of affection towards it is one person. Their life system, art, literature, and philosophy all are Indian culture. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee was also impressed
Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, impressed by the efficiency and capability of Upadhyay ji, had once said – If I get two Deendayals, I will change the map of Indian politics. However, he died suddenly on the night of 11 February 1968 near Mughalsarai. In his honor, the Government of India has renamed Mughalsarai Station as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Station.
The government announced Antyodaya Day
Antyodaya means upliftment, the rise of the economically and socially weaker section to the last level of society. The word Antyodaya was coined by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. In his honor, the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared Antyodaya Day on 25 September 2014 on the occasion of Upadhyay's 98th birth anniversary. This day has been celebrated officially every year since 2015.
